Our artwork is an investment. What does this mean? It means that our portraits are not not merely pictures of you or your child…it is a moment in your life, captured for you to treasure forever. And then it becomes what you see every day as you get ready for work…as you make breakfast…as you live your life. It becomes the artwork that decorates your home. It becomes part of your life’s tradition.
The investment isn’t only financial.
It takes an investment of time. During our consultation appointments we talk with you about what type of portrait you want in your home. Colors, sizes, outfits. This doesn’t mean that you pick everything out before we photograph, but it means that we have plan – together. I want us both to be on the same page. Consultation appointments cost nothing but your time and are required in order for us to do our best work – together.
It takes an investment of emotion. I want your portraits to reflect what you love about your life. In order for this to happen, you and I need to get to know each other. (That also means we might get some gooey emotions going on…it’s ok…you’ll get used to it!) I want know what makes your heart flutter. Is it her cute little curls? Or his sly smile when he’s playing shy?
It takes an investment of will. Sometimes portraits aren’t easy – especially on parents. Relax! We are here to make this an enjoyable time. We have SO much fun at Traditions that sometimes it’s hard to believe I get to do this all the time! So, hang in there. We know it’s tough to make decisions about portraits, and we’ll help you through it! No worries.

And, it does take an investment of money. Good things are worth it. Period. You are investing in an heirloom that your family will pass on from generation to generation.
